It's been over 5 1/2 years that my PCP noticed something not right with my bloodwork and recommended to visit the offices of Dr. Andrew Schneider and Dr. Chintan Gandhi. Dr. Gandhi took me as his patient. From the very first moment he showed interest in my particular case. I eventually developed a rare blood disease and he always was on top of it recommending different drugs and later chemotherapy. My illness kept advancing and the chemo wasn't really doing much. During one of the visits he suggested that I visit Sylvester Cancer Institute in Miami to explore the possibility of a bone marrow transplant because he felt that it was my best chance, if not the only one, to live to a ripe old age, with all the dangers and complications it entailed, otherwise I had maybe up to five years with treatment. That was the best recommendation I have ever received since it's been more than a year after the transplant and I am well on my way to recovery. It may sound trite but I do honestly owe, in many ways, my life to Dr. Gandhi. He is a caring man who is more that just a doctor, he became a friend. His support staff is very friendly and efficient from the office personnel, nurses, nurse practitioners, lab staff to the chemo department. I highly recommend him for his professionalism and his dedication.
